Spyort!

So, like sport? I do. Moving on ...

In recent news, Bangladesh have opened yet another chapter in their cricketing history by:
a) winning their first game in their last 25, and more importantly,
b) beating England for the first time EVER!

That's right, England had never lost to the mighty Tigers of Bangladesh. The Banglas had taken down the Aussies, India, Pakistan - you name it, everyone but England. So finally they have the full set, and well done to them. Anything to dent the English confidence ahead of the Ashes is wonderful by me. And victory for the underdog never hurts either.

Speaking of firsts, last night I had the privilege of watching the Green Machine (Canberra Raiders) win live down at Brookie Oval. This was a first in that for the 20+ years I've been following the Raiders, this is the first time I can remember actually watching them win in person. I can remember plenty of losses ...
So that's another one for the underdogs.

What does all of this mean? It means people around the world (i.e. me & bangladeshi cricket fans & players) are now feeling better about themselves. And that's what sport is really about, isn't it?
